Where bookings leak

Likes are easy. Bookings leak in six places.

A gorgeous feed proves you can style an event. It doesn’t carry someone from “that’s beautiful” to a paid deposit. These are the gaps we find most often, in roughly the order customers hit them.

  1. Found

Someone searches “marquee hire sydney” or taps the link in your Instagram bio.

LeakYou’re not visible for what customers actually type, or the bio link opens a slow homepage slideshow.

  2. Browsing

They look for the item, package or style they already have in mind.

LeakProducts live in a gallery with no sizes, quantities, inclusions or prices.

  3. Confidence

They check you’ve done events like theirs before.

LeakOld photos, no venues or occasions named, reviews nowhere in sight.

  4. Asking

They try to enquire, usually on a phone.

LeakA long form, a fiddly date picker, or “DM us” as the only option.

  5. Waiting

They wait to hear back while messaging two competitors.

LeakNo confirmation, no promised reply time, enquiries landing in an inbox nobody checks.

  6. Deciding

They compare quotes and talk it over.

LeakNo follow-up, and no simple way to accept and pay a deposit.

What your customers type

People search for the thing, not the service.

Hundreds of people a month look for chairs, marquees and photo booths in Sydney. Far fewer search for “event stylist”. That changes what your website has to do: hire businesses need pages Google can match to items, while style-led businesses need sites that convert referrals and Instagram visitors.

When they type it

Engagement season starts in October. So should your marketing.

Searches swing hard through the year. Campaigns and website fixes that start in December for summer are already late. Peak months are labelled; hover a bar on desktop for its figure.

“wedding planner sydney”

January is 3.3× July and August: newly engaged couples start planning after the holidays. Peak 1,300, low 390.

“picnic hire”

Summer peak in January, a winter trough in June, and an early lift from August. Peak 320, low 110.

“party hire sydney”

December is the quietest month; by then most summer events are already booked. Peak 1,300, low 590.

What we do

Five services, one job: more booked events.

Each service starts from a problem we see in event businesses, and ends with a number you can check.

The problem

Beautiful photos, but nowhere obvious to enquire, and slow on a phone.

What we build

Fast, phone-first sites with packages, real prices, portfolios organised by occasion, and enquiry or booking flows. For hire companies: catalogues and quote carts.

How it’s measured

Quote requests and bookings each month, and how many people finish the form on mobile.

The problem

Not showing up when people search for what you actually offer.

What we build

A crawlable page for each real service or product category, a complete Google Business Profile, and content that answers customer questions.

How it’s measured

Search Console impressions and clicks for service terms, and enquiries from organic search.

Google Ads

Google Ads

The problem

Paying for clicks from people outside your area, or looking for something you don’t sell.

What we build

Campaigns on high-intent searches such as item plus suburb and “near me”, with tight negative keywords and a landing page per service.

How it’s measured

Cost per qualified enquiry, not cost per click.

Meta Ads

Meta Ads

The problem

Boosted posts that collect likes, not enquiries.

What we build

Creative from your real setups, campaigns timed to the season, and lead forms or landing pages that ask for date, venue and guest count.

How it’s measured

Qualified enquiries and booked events by campaign.

The problem

No idea which channel produced last month’s bookings.

What we build

Lead events that fire only on confirmed submissions, the source captured with each enquiry, and a simple view from enquiry to booking.

How it’s measured

Enquiry to quote to booking, by source.

Real work

LC Events: styling that finally looks as good online.

We designed and built the website for LC Events, a Sydney wedding, event styling, hire and luxury picnic business: their own photography, a portfolio they manage themselves, a phone-first enquiry journey, and the technical SEO underneath.

  • BuiltWebsite, photo management studio, enquiry journey, technical SEO, GA4 measurement
  • Timeline29 September to 25 October 2026
  • ResultsToo early to report honestly. Search data for the site begins 22 October 2026.

Who we work with

Built for businesses that sell occasions.

Different corners of the industry lose bookings in different places. A hire company’s problem is rarely a stylist’s problem.

Start here

A booking-path review of your business.

Send us your website and tell us what you sell. On a call, we’ll walk through where we’d expect bookings to leak and what we’d fix first, including anything you can fix yourself.

No obligation. If we work together, scope and costs are agreed in writing first. Advertising spend is always separate and paid by you.

  1. How you show up for the searches your customers actually type, on Google and Maps.
  2. Your site on a phone: speed, navigation, packages, products and prices.
  3. Your enquiry or quote form end to end, including whether enquiries actually arrive.
  4. What you measure today, and what you’d need to know which channel books events.

Questions

Before you get in touch.

Do you only work with event businesses?

No. Everest works with Sydney service businesses more broadly. Events, weddings and hire are a focus because we’ve built for this industry and understand how its customers plan, compare and book.

We already have a website. Do we need a new one?

Not necessarily. Often the biggest gains come from fixing the enquiry form, product pages, prices and speed on the site you have. We’ll tell you honestly whether a rebuild is worth it.

Can you guarantee rankings or bookings?

No. Nobody can honestly guarantee Google rankings or bookings. We can make your business easier to find, easier to trust and easier to enquire with, and measure what changes.

How long does a website take?

It depends on scope and how ready your content is. A focused site using photography you already have is much quicker than a hire catalogue with live availability. We agree scope, timeline and cost in writing before work starts.

Can you work with our booking or rental software?

Usually. Most booking and rental platforms offer embeds or integrations, and we’ll check yours before quoting. If a platform would hold you back, we’ll say so.

Is advertising spend included?

No. Ad spend is paid directly to Google or Meta from your own account. Our management and build fees are separate and agreed up front.

Do you work outside Sydney?

Sydney is our home market and where we know the local search landscape best, but websites, SEO and advertising can be delivered for event businesses elsewhere in Australia.
